Family Day is a national movement that encourages parents to frequently eat dinner with their kids and be involved in their children's lives. Research finds that the more often kids eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. Family Day helps us remember to take time together, to thank God for the good gifts he provides for us. Through the reflective prayers said during grace plus the array of favorite meals served, you can continually feed your child's mind, body and soul.Celebrate Family Day on September 22, 2008 with families across the country by setting aside time to eat together as a family.

According to Monsignor Ignacio Barreiro of the Rome Office of Human Life International:
"Cardinal Ennio Antonelli...has published several remarkable pastoral letters on the family. On the one that he wrote last year on family and society, he spoke in very realistic terms of the many problems that affect the family in our days in Italy. He denounced well how the individualistic mentality erodes the family and how that affects the education of children. He expressed in the strongest possible way, the tragedy of the demographic winter, that is freezing Italian society when he stated: 'It is not difficult to become aware that without births a nation dies and how without education a nation becomes decadent.' We should point out that due to the current globalization of society, the same problems that he denounced in Italy can be experienced in so many other countries of the world."
